5th Grade Petersen

 Last week we gave out the First Quarter and Second Quarter Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance certificates.   Congratulations to all of our award winners!

This year we have been inviting different people in from the community so that we may hone our interviewing and writing skills!  In January, we were honored to have Anthony and Charity come and talk with us about Stroke Awareness.  Anthony is a UFC fighter who had a stroke in his early 20’s.  He overcame his disabilities and has now won many awards in his sport.  He encouraged the kids to always reach higher than everyone else and to never give up on their goals in life.  Charity, a mother of a stroke surviver, shared a beautiful quilt made of pictures of other survivers.  She taught us that there is no such thing as ‘normal’ and that everyone has something that makes them unique and different.  We so enjoyed having them as our guests and look forward to seeing them again in the future!

Have fun playing Tetris!  Tetris is a game that came from another game called Pentomino!  Use this game to learn about flips and turns.
